We cancelled a tour of a temple today so we could spend some time in the market. Barkhor Street, which is near our hotel, has pretty much anything we could want in terms of souvenirs.
Just as we were leaving our hotel, Dalma, our guide, showed up to tell us she must accompany us as things were a little unstable in the market. She walked and shopped with us for over an hour until it was okay for us to be on our own.
As usual, we bought more than we should have and now our carry-ons are filled to the brim.
The highlight of the day was our excursion to the Monk's Debate. This monastery is used for the training of the monks and today they were in fine form.
