Pics Number Two

Okay, here are a few more pictures intended to heighten your interest in Lo de Marcos:

Watching the shrimp boats from our beach.

The ponies we meet most mornings when walking downtown.

Getting bread from the bakery....the "real bakery" at the back of the store.

I almost always work on my crossword puzzles every morning after my workout..... but, looking closer at this picture and seeing the beer cans and chips makes me think this may have been late afternoon. I have been caught working on them at various times of the day! If you look even closer you can see that I have been keeping up with my water consumption also!

Visiting with friends in Bucerias.

Fred helping the local fishermen move their boat higher on the beach in front of La Parota....the sea was pretty rough and they didn't want to lose their boats.

A Few Photos

We have had a wonderful two and a half months in Lo de Marcos with lots of memories, some good and some not so good.

Here are a few pictures of what we have accomplished on this trip:

December 5th and getting ready to leave for the south...travelling with a couple from Calgary

Set up and waiting for Christmas.

Golfing with Gord and Debbie.

Boxing Day in Puerto Vallarta.

Getting all primed to see his mom.

Checking bus schedules...tedious job, but it had to be done!

Our daily hike.

More to come, but it is close to 8:00 and we will lose our Internet in a few minutes!

Change of Plans

It's raining out this morning so we will have to abandon all our plans for outdoor activities and switch gears. I guess we will be working on the inside of the 5th wheel today repacking and organizing our pantry, defrosting the fridge and maybe even getting some planning done.

We are still a little sluggish from yesterday's 18 holes of golf during the heat of the day. Most days have been nice enough to do 18, but not yesterday! It was our last round so we wanted to go out in style.

The rain is kind of nice as we haven't had a thunder and lightning storm yet this year...reminds me of home.

Getting to Work

Yesterday we took Johnny and Geri to the airport for their return flight to Calgary. When we took Mo on the 7th she was able to walk directly to the check in counter, but yesterday was a zoo. The line up was slow moving and extremely long. There is something to be said about carry-ons!

Now our plans are to slowly get the RV ready for travel over the wonderful Mexican roads for the sole purpose of getting all our stuff back to San Carlos in one piece. It takes a special kind of packing to accomplish that.

We could feel it already yesterday and will probably feel it more today.....a little let down now that we are alone. It was so nice to have friends here to shake us out of our boring routine and to recognize what a jewel Lo de Marcos really is.

Silver

Last Friday we took the bus to San Pancho to show Johnny and Geri where we sometimes spend our afternoons after a round of golf.

The beach wasn't too crowded with tourists, but the vendors were out in full force. I wanted a few things so was ready to negotiate when they came around. Even Geri got into the act!

It was a fun afternoon...sunny weather, cold beer, great guacamole and good friends. We ended the day at an Italian Restaurant that served some of the largest entrees and salads imaginable.

Playing on the Beach

On Sundays the Mexican families gravitate to the beach right in front of our RV Park for all sorts of activities. This past week horses seemed to be the theme...big ones in the palapa restaurant and little ones strolling the beach.

Cozy Combi

We crammed into a combi for a trip to the La Penita market. It was a little crowded, but was cheap and quick. Far easier than trying to find a parking spot for our big truck.

The market was the busiest I have seen in years so we didn't hang around too long...just long enough for a wonderful lunch of shrimp tacos.

The Game

We spent Sunday afternoon just like most people in Lo de Marcos...watching the Super Bowl. What a game, even if the wrong team won!

Beach Time

Mo arrived last Sunday and like any good friends we had to try the beach margaritas on the same day.
