Second Day

The second day is always better than the first.  Or so they say.

Phnom Penh seemed to be much cleaner today, even though the smells remained. Or maybe, we subconsciously stayed away from the areas we thought were the worst.

Whatever the reason, we had a great walk today seeing many of the sites we had made a note of. In fact, I think we walked until we dropped. We had to resort to Tuk Tuks and that is unusual for us. They can carry all four of us for $4 or $5 USD. Awesome bargain and a great leg saver!

The President's Palace was very impressive and so unlike the rest of the city....very tidy and manicured.  The heat seemed to be getting to us so we cut the visit a little shorter than we should have, but we knew we had a long walk home.

For the second evening in a row we chose not to venture out for dinner...we had a later lunch and on hot days food is not a priority.  The hotel has a super sit-down breakfast so we actually ate twice today!!

Hour long massages are $12 USD at the hotel so I think that is where the two siblings are heading tonight.

It seems that the Chinese and the Vietanmese think we are something pretty special and they always want their picture taken with us. Royalty!

I think I spot some photo bombers behind that tour group photo at the Palace!

Had not noticed at first glance; thanks for pointing it out - 'orange' definitely helps

Yes orange is also the colour of the monks - so sometimes I mistook Colleen for an MIT ( monk in training )

I mean ---- colour of the monk's robes. .......not the monks!
