Riding the Mekong

Yesterday was a pretty amazing day!  We were driven to our departure city to board the Dragon Eyes cruising boat. It was a two cabin affair so we had the whole boat to ourselves, except for the five crew members who catered to our every whim.

We cruised 120 kilometres, in total, and everyone of those kilometres brought something new to see...from sampans to barges.

We were fed three fantastic meals, cooked on board and served by our young guide, Dat.

Most of the day was spent resting and sightseeing from our loungers. It doesn't get any better than this.

We even had time for a "bet you can't sit flat footed like the Vietnamese" contest. I didn't even try that or I may still be down there.

We anchored for the night around 9:00 after travelling in the pitch black for a far while....passing and being overtaken by larger boats.  Not really in Alice's comfort zone.

Glad you clarified the contest.....I thought maybe they were doing warm-up exercises for the rest rooms on land ;-)
Sunset looked pretty amazing! And your cabins too!
