Today (July 12th) we toured Petra ruins and it was spectacular. We came back hot, tired and very much in need of a beer!
The natural beauty of Petra is hard to believe….it has to be seen. In 2007 it was named as one of the 7 New Wonders of the World!
The canyon led to many cave dwellings, tombs and a temple at the far end of the walk. An over abundance of things to look at.
Our guide is an archeologist who had taken part in the excavation of the site….he maintains that at least 60 percent of Petra is still to be uncovered. He took us off the main trail to get a better view of the site…gave us tiny bits of information from his excavations and kept us entertained throughout the tour.
I am not a movie goer nor do I watch movies at home so it was news to me that Indiana Jones was filmed here. I may have to watch that one.

Hey Colleen...the most recent Death on the Nile movie(2022)was also shot there. You may have to watch TWO movies!
