On July 6th we had another full day spending the morning in the Holocaust Museum and the Israel Museum. We were able to see the Dead Sea Scrolls (or replicas of). No pictures were allowed inside…the white dome is where the scrolls are located.
After visiting the two museums in the morning we headed to Bethlehem to see the/birthplace of Jesus. We were able to to see where he was born plus the manger where he was placed after birth. All of this took place in a cave so the lighting was not perfect but you will be able to see what people travel many miles to see.
We had to cross into The West Bank of Palestine to see some of the sites today and what an amazing change from Jerusalem….Jerusalem appears to be very affluent whereas Palestine seems to be disorganized and poor.
We stopped at the wall between they two to look at the graffiti that is on display there. There is a hotel right at the wall….the owners must have a great sense of humour judging by the name of the hotel!
