A Few More Pictures

I have a few pictures of our drive from San Pancho on the west coast to Merida. The scenery changes as do the people. We left San Pancho and drove through jungle and hills to get to the flat plains around Mexico City. We drove [accidentally, of course] through some mountains by Orizaba and finally we reached the flatland of the Yucatan.

At nearly every tope and red light there are vendors selling food stuff of some sort...it may be a truck load of tomatoes or it may be pineapple juice on the side of the road.

The methods of transportation vary from walking with your herd in the mountains to a tuk tuk in the cities.

And as usual in the State of Yucatan the military presence is very noticeable. For the first time in many years we were asked to produce our tourist passes and identification.
