We have been run into by shopping carts and scratched by stray trees, but other than that the Prius has been perfect for living in Mexico.
It is small enough to wind through the narrow streets of Guaymas and big enough to hold four people comfortably. The only complaint I have is that it can't hold four people and four sets of clubs at the same time. Oh, and we found out it is too low for driving in the desert!
The trip down in November cost us $167 Cdn in gas and while living here for 5.5 months it only cost us $136 Cdn to operate. That is pretty hard to beat. For a long while the car was getting close to 75 miles per gallon and with the price of gas that brought smiles to our pocketbook.
We are certainly going to miss that luxury next year when we bring the 5th wheel down. I checked my records from last year and even with the lower price of gas it cost us $1818 Cdn to drive the truck for 6 months. Do they make a Hybrid truck big enough to pull the 5th wheel?
