Walking, Walking, Walking

After a refreshing sleep, we were ready to tackle the day. First on the agenda was to purchase a Metro Pass for a week.

We bought it at Penn Station and after a few wrong turns we finally found the correct subway and headed for the 911 Memorial. It was as heart wrenching as the first time I saw it.

From there we walked to Battery Park to catch the commuter ferry to Staten Island so we could get a good look at the Statue of Liberty. None of us wanted to stand in line to get up close so this was the  next best thing.

By this time we were hungry again so we found Stone Street and all its outdoor restaurants. I love that street and could spend all day there.

A quick visit to Wall Street ended the day, or so we thought. After we got back we wanted to get a closer look at Times Square. That was another little jaunt that the feet didn't need.

Lots of walking and lots of sightseeing made this a very busy day. Tomorrow, we hope to slow down and spend the day around this area.

Our first trip to NYC we actually did line up at Statue of Liberty and hike up her skirt. It was actually kind of cool...but not if you are claustrophobic!

The line ups were two to three hours long...no way!
