Seven Days and Counting

We left Eatonia on Thursday noon, after the heavy snowfall we experienced on the weekend. The roads were not great at first, but at Fox Valley they started to clear up and we had smooth driving to Great Falls.

We spent the night in a Great Falls hotel rather than try to fight minus temperatures. On Friday, we had mediocre roads as far as Butte and then the weather started to clear and the temperatures began rising.

We love State Parks and on Friday we stopped at Willard Bay State Park just outside of Salt Lake City. It is conveniently located right beside the Interstate so in a matter of minutes we were settled in a site enjoying TV and the Internet.

We didn't bother making a reservation for Mesquite so we had to settle on free camping behind the Casa Blanca Casino. We usually stop here to de-winterize but because we couldn't get water we had to wait until the next day.

Laughlin was our next stop and it was here that we finally got the fifth wheel "camping ready" while staying at Avi RV Park outside of the city. We used Bullhead City as our supply centre - groceries that we can't get in Mexico.  It took us two days to "sort of complete" our shopping and then it was on to Tucson to finish up.

We spend two evenings at Desert Diamond Casino's free parking area for RVs.  The first evening we just relaxed and enjoyed the warm weather.  The Casino is located nearer to Green Valley than Tucson so we spent all of our time at Green Valley stores, never venturing into Tucson.

Tomorrow we will start the last stage of this trip, crossing the US/Mexico border around 6:30 am.  Mexico here we come!
