Cruise Ship Activities
Some cruise lines are now including Guaymas as one of their stops and this has been a boost to the local economy. The city rebuilt the docking area and has organized all kinds of activities for the passengers as well as for the local gringos. Holland America's Zaandam (about 1500 passengers) arrived yesterday morning so we headed into Guaymas to check things out.
Our usual mode of transportation is the efficient bus system and we continued that today as we knew parking would be scarce. Much to our surprise, when we boarded the bus to the ship it was filled with friends from Tecalai.
We couldn't resist the lure of a shrimp festival, locally made crafts, mariachi bands and folkloric dancers.

Now we know what the gringos will do to pass the day ;-)
I bet you're happy that the cruise ship doesn't dock at San Carlos.
Oh how the little things keep us happy!
