Organ Pipe National Monument
Because Organ Pipe National Monument is located on the Mexican border, it was a perfect stop for us. It gave us the opportunity to get an early start in the morning plus we were able to see some of the most amazing cactus in the United States. The Organ Pipe cactus is only found in this particular part of the country so it is a rarity. There are many other varieties of cacti found here, but the Organ Pipe is the real draw.
The park is very large and isolated and as such is a very big player in the illegal immigration of Mexicans. The border patrol reminds tourist to report any signs of litter in the hills and desert. Litter usually is an indication of Mexicans in hiding.

You should put some Christmas lights up on that cactus for Christmas cheer. However don't injure yourself!! Looks like you two are having fun!
Just an update on Lenore's condition.... Lenore was hit on the head with the puck at last nite's Huskey hockey game. Xrays of her head showed nothing!

Scrooge no longer! We even bought Xmas lights in Yuma, but can't seem to find the time to get them up. Will post pictutes when we do complete that monumental task.
Doug, how come you get all the good gag lines about your spouse? Lenore and Darlene will have to form the "Head Bangers" club. Hope she is feeling okay.
don't you be complainin' about cool weather...we'll have none of that! I can see that Princess Margaret is quite the smart pooch as she waits in the truck, staying out of the way of any stray javelinas.

Great to hear from you! Just one word of advice from your 'mexican wannabees' back home....please be sure to look very closely at the graphics on the respective public bathroom doors. You wouldn't want to make the same mistake that your little sister did in the Dominican!
Also nice to see the photo of Maggie with Don's holiday haircut!
Keep us posted!
