We tried to make Spritz with Prosecco...how does it look Billee? We think we "sort of" succeeded.

My Favourite Activity
Golfing on my birthday! I complained about Fred's cart driving skills once too often and am now the regular driver!!
The palm that I am beside has been hit by golf balls so often that it has dents in the trunk.

Pretty lazy
I have been pretty lazy when it comes to my blog, but every so often I am able to whip up enough energy to post something interesting. Today, sargassum is the topic.
We went on our usual walk yesterday and when we got to the beach we found that the sargassum had returned. The Yucatan coast has been without it for most of the month that we have been here...no longer.
The workers are doing all they can to bag it and remove it from the public beach but is seems like an impossible task.

We have heard talk that some areas are starting to use the sargassum in the building of a few houses and other places are putting barriers farther out in the ocean to trap the stuff before it hits shore.
Whatever they do, it is having an impact on the beach loving tourists...no one wants to spend huge dollars to go to a beach resort and then are unable to use it.
We will be fine as long as the sargassum doesn't find its way to the golf course!!

Beaches
As far as beaches go, the Yucatan Peninsula has some of the nicest in all of Mexico and yesterday we visited one of our favourites...Akumal.
The area is undergoing some changes in hopes of saving the giant turtles that live in the waters. We did notice that the numbers were down and there were far fewer people in the water disturbing the turtles.
